Great Cities of Britannia

Britain, city of Compassion

Britain, the principal city in Britannia, was founded centuries ago by Lord British and soon became the city that embodied the virtue of compassion. It is located equidistant from the four corners of Britannia. A few years ago, a terrible column summoned by the Guardian rose from the nearby dungeon of Despise. The people of Britain became less and less compassionate. They soon grew to despise the poor and invalid, and felt that they were a drag on their lives.

Jhelom, city of Valour

Far to the southwest of the mainland once lied the Valorian Isles whereupon the city of Jhelom once stood. The city was renowned for its courage. When the Great Cataclysm occurred and the Guardian entered the land, a volcano destroyed the once great city of Jhelom. Soon, however, valorous knights who survived the devastation soon built the city of Valoria inside the volcano, seeming to dare the Titan of Fire himself. As time went on, though, the effects of a huge column which rose out of the dungeon of Destard increased. The once valorous Knights of Valoria became terrified of the very city they lived in.

Minoc, city of Sacrifice

This towne, founded on Lost Hope Bay in north-central Britannia was renowned for its fine metalwork and armour. During the Great Cataclysm, the city of Minoc was destroyed. Eventually, it was rebuilt on Dagger Isle to the east by a group of gypsies who cherished the virtue of sacrifice. However, the Guardian's columns managed to affect them, too. They soon became very greedy and prideful.

Moonglow, city of Honesty

Honesty and the quest for truth was foremost to the mages who founded the city Moonglow many centuries ago. The city is located on Verity Isle to the east of the mainland of Britannia. The horrible column that arose from the dungeon Deceit, however, caused the once honest citizens of Moonglow to become cheats and liars.

New Magincia, city of Humility

New Magincia, founded by humble shepherds from across Britannia, was built upon the isle of Magincia, which had been destroyed by daemons because of its prideful ways. It is located on an isle in the middle of the sea, to the west of Buccaneer's Den. The terrible column that rose from the infamous dungeon Hythloth forced the people of New Magincia, save one, the Avatar's most-humble companion Katrina, to move on for bigger and better things.

Skara Brae, city of Spirituality

Skara Brae was built by the rangers of the forest of Spiritwood. It lied on an isle due west of Britain. The isle was once protected by the stone statue known as the Sentinel of Skara Brae. During the Cataclysm, the Sentinel was buried in the rubble where the city of Spirituality once stood.

Trinsic, city of Honour

Founded by paladins, the city of Trinsic was built on the mainland to the south of Britain centuries ago. It quickly became known as the city of Honour. During the Great Cataclysm, much of the southern mainland sunk into the Great Sea, destroying the walled city of Trinsic. Those who could salvage the materials from the old city built a glorious new one on top of the sea. It has been said by some that recently, the people of the city of Honour no longer keep their word.

Yew, city of Justice

The city of Yew was built in the Deep Forest in the northwest of the Britannian continent. The court of Yew has long reigned supreme in Britannia, and the city has long been known as that of justice. With the guardian's arrival, the great court of Yew has become a farce and the city no longer follows the path of Justice.
