The Black Gate.
I.- The Fellowship.

A long time passed since the last visit of the Avatar to Britannia. So long that people had started to believe that the adventures and holy quests of the Avatar do not exist far more from a distant myth.
However do to some physical proofs, like the Isle of the Avatar, the pact of the Gargoyles and the existence of the Avatar closest friends, scholars still keep the name of the Avatar in the History books.

Seeking for new values, a philosophical group was born in the land of Britannia.

This new group, called the Fellowship was founded by its leader Batlin, who dedicated his life in the quest of spiritual studies.
Showing other paths, different from the ones of the Avatar, the Fellowship won many members in the last years, becoming the biggest and most respected organization of the realm.
With the Fellowship taking all the attention of the people, the old scared ways and places where forgotten in the past.


- Batlin -

Many of the old holy Shrines of the virtues faced the hunger of time, as no one would take even a look of care.
The only one to survive the bad memory of the citizens of Britannia has been the Shrine of Compassion, situated in the city of Love, in Cove, do to the hard work of its caretaker, a brave girl called Natashia.

II.- The Death of Magic.

The Shrines were not the only thing to become useless, but all users of the mystic arts of magic, as a strange illness brought madness to their minds. This strange illness also affected all other forms of magic, including the gates, making them a very dangerous (if not suicidal) way to travel.

To many mages, the madness that cursed their brain brought them in a evil quest for power and immortality.


- Horance -
The Lynch

Calling back to the forbidden arts of black magic, many of the ancient wizards, transformed themselves into Lynches.
Not dead, not alive, this lynches only walked around earth seeking control and power.
The most affected with this was Horance the Wizard (known for helping the Avatar in previous adventures), who in his way to immortality, destroyed all the Island of Skara Brae, and imprisoned all souls that once breathed on that lands.

As magic ways prove no use, the scientific research growed, bringing prosperity to Britannia. But as the quality of life growed, the lack of guidness for the new technologies broght terrible consequences. Many species founded their extinction as several rivers, lakes and forest lost their life with the contamination.

III.- Consolidation of Races.

With the collapse of the last regions of the Underground, Gargolies found themselves without a home to live. Lord British give the Gargolies the isle where once stood Lord Blackthorne Castle. To integrate the Gargolies into the realm, two representants of their race were invited to the great council. To this called to wise Gargolies attended, Wislem, who became Lord British advisor, and Inwisloklenm, ho took a chair in the great council.
