Portal Feel (INT):
(Class skill for everyone) This skill doesn’t provide you with information such as location of a given portal or the key to unlock it, though it still provides very useful information. Once you discover a portal and examining it for al least a full round you can extract some information from it, as dictates the following table:
DC 15 Determines through observation and intuition if the portal leads to a setting or situation of direct and immediate harm. DC 20 Determines the plane of arrival. DC 25 Determines the layer or the general environment inside the plane. DC 30 Determine a specific realm or general zone of arrival within the layer.
The results are cumulative.
Retry: You can retry once per hour the first use of the skill because it depends on the situation of that specific moment but you can’t take 10 or 20 with this particular use. For the other uses, if you roll a natural 1, some false information is given, and the following information you obtain is based upon this false precept (e.g. you can make the plane right and then foil the destination layer, for that the realm’s information will be wrong too).
Special: 5 ranks in Spot gives you a +2 synergy bonus to Portal Feel.
